Haiku Part 2, and Some Houskeeping

Earlier this month, I posted 15 haiku as part of one of my goals on The List.

Now we're at the end of the month, here are the final 15.

Lures worm when his clever feet

Remember that, as part of The List, I spent a month entering competitions/prize draws?

Well, so far I haven't heard that I've won some fantastic prize.

One of the competitions I entered was for Smashbox cosmetics. I don't remember the details now, and I didn't win, but I did receive this primer sample in the post today. Thank you very much, Smashbox!

So the hours I spent hunting for and entering these things did pay off. Kind of. And now I have a new primer to try. Yay!

A Happy Package

Recently I received a happy package from my friend Lilia, who blogs at Paracosm of Lilies! It was (mostly) filled with chocolate, yay!

Lilia knew of my goal of trying 50 different chocolates, so kindly contributed to my efforts!

This bundle of chocolate included chocolate bars that were:
  • Gluten Free
  • Wheat Free
  • Dairy Free
  • In a bar
  • Like a cake
  • In bits and pieces
  • Delicious! (Of course!)
I have now tried all that she sent me, and have written about them here, so read on to find out about the delights that came in my happy package...

Sunday, 15 June 2014

At the beginning of the month, I decided to start on another goal from The List:
025. Write 1 haiku per day for 1 month
Originally I planned to update every 5-10 days, but that fell by the wayside as I became distracted by blogging about chocolate!

Now we're halfway through the month, I have 15 attempts at haiku, so it's time I posted them!
The dates are noted as proof that I have been writing one each day ;)

Mostly I've used the happenings of the day to inspire me: a birthday, a lost button, the weather, and so on.

Chipped water glasses
Languish dusty in cupboard
Waiting to be filled

Gurgle, grumble, groan--
Monster disliked his last meal
What a stomach ache!

Go-Go-Goji and Pass the Parsley

Goji berry seedlings

You may recall that one of the goals on The List was:
060. Grow a plant from seeds and give cuttings to people
I can now say this is complete!

Chickens and Llamas and Cows, Oh My!

Every year in Sussex, the South of England Show takes place at Ardingly. It's a county show with roots in agriculture--a big thing in West Sussex!
Alongside the livestock and other animals on display there are trade stands, arena events, food tents, a flower show and crafts. For children, there is a fun fair.

Cookies, Fruit & Marmalade

Although it's rather terrible of me to make a third chocolate-related post in a row, I'm going to anyway!

Once again I've been eating chocolate (do I ever stop?) and have three more bars to write about. This time includes chocolate from Lithuania!
