Action and Laughter

I should have posted this ages ago--I watched film #30 on Boxing Day! Talk about slow, right?

So, the goal still stands:
061. Watch 100 films
Here are films 21-30!

21. X-men 2 (2003)
Genre: Action/Adventure/Sci-Fi
In a word: Mutants!!!
In a sentence: The X-men band together with former foe Magneto's team to fight against a greater evil and save the world (again)
Recommended: If you like superhero films where the heroes are not perfect. And mutants.

22. X-men: The Last Stand (2006)
Genre: Action/Adventure/Sci-Fi
In a word: MUTANTS. (Have I made enough of a point yet?)
In a sentence: A cure has been found for mutants but whilst the rift between humans and mutants becomes ever wider, so too does the difference in how Professor Xavier and the X-men react compared to the reaction of Magneto and his Brotherhood.
Recommended: For anyone with a liking for the X-men film franchise, wanting a relatively easy film to watch.

23. Skyfall (2012)
Genre: Action/Adventure
In a word: Bond.
In a sentence: After an attack on MI6, James Bond must find those responsible and stop them before they take out M, despite the resistance of those in authority.
Recommended: For fans of predictable yet still enjoyable action films.

24. Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Genre: Action/Adventure/Crime
In a word: Cheese
In a sentence: When a former enemy of Holmes rises from the grave and goes on a killing spree, Holmes and Watson set out to track him down and stop him.
Recommended: Whether you're a fan of the books or not, and have a penchant for a helping of daftness with your crime-fighting. (It's a good film, but don't expect it to be completely straitlaced.)

25. The Wolverine (2013)
Genre: Action/Adventure/Sci-Fi
In a word: Kickass
In a sentence: Logan, also known as Wolverine, is summoned to Japan by an old acquaintance, but whilst there finds he has to face not only a strong nemesis, but also his own inner struggles.
Recommended: If you like the X-men franchise, fight scenes with samurai swords, etc. Seems some people utterly hate this film but I liked it, and if you watch it wait until the end of the credits!

26. Casino Royale (2006)
Genre: Action/Adventure
In a word: Poker
In a sentence: On his first mission as 007, Bond has to win a high stakes poker game against baddie Le Chiffre, but all is not as it seems...
Recommended: For Bond fans and non Bond fans alike. It's cheesy in typical James Bond fashion, and of course there are shiny cars.

27. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011)
Genre: Action/Adventure/Crime
In a word: Danger
In a sentence: Holmes and Watson are back, and this time must defeat Holmes' biggest ever nemesis: Professor James Moriarty.
Recommended: If you liked the 2009 Holmes film, and want to see how great Mary Watson really is. (Hint: she's great!)

28. Mrs. Brown's Boys: D'Movie (2014)
Genre: Comedy
In a word: (The sound of Agnes Brown laughing)
In a sentence: When the market is under threat from a wicked developer, trader, mother and grandmother Agnes Brown sets out to save it, with the help of blind ninjas, a barrister who suffers from Tourettes when under pressure, and a solicitor with an alcohol problem.
Recommended: If you love the Mrs Brown's Boys series, you'll love this. If you've not heard of it, watch it anyway. It's hilarious!

29. Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa (2013)
Genre: Comedy
In a word: Radio
In a sentence: When famous radio DJ Alan Partridge's station is taken over by a new corporate group, his self-serving attitude causes events to unfold which lead to a siege at the station, and Alan having to work with the police to bring it to an end.
Recommended: For those who love British humour and want to have a laugh.

30. Cool Runnings (1993)
Genre: Action/Comedy/Family
In a word: Bobsleigh
In a sentence: When Jamaican Derice's hopes to sprint in the Olympics are dashed, he turns to his community, and disgraced former Olympian Irving, to make one last ditch attempt at being part of the Olympics: as the Jamaican Bobsleigh team.
Recommended: If you enjoy amusing and heart-warming films about people reaching for their dreams (and freezing in the Calgary winter). This is based on a true story!

Another ten films down and I'm already pretty far into the next ten!
