A Dream in the Red Noon

Two more paintings today! These aren't completely new, but I've been putting off (*cough*forgot*cough*) posting them here until now.

Today's theme is landscapes.

Red Noon, June 2014
Red Noon: This is an image that nearly always pops into my head when I listen to Nookicky's album, Noon Moon. The laid-back tone of the music always conjures images of rocks, being high up on a warm day, and sand.
Medium: Watercolour on watercolour paper
Size:17.7x24cm

A Dream Among Nightmares, 2014
A Dream Among Nightmares: I painted this on the same day as Red Noon, and I think this one hightlights my intense need for masking fluid. I could have seriously done with some for that umbrella! This happened when I was simply painting to see what came.
Medium: Watercolour on watercolour paper
Size: 17.7x24cm

One day I will buy masking fluid! But at present I've run out of sensibly-sized watercolour paper and I'm not keen on cutting down from A3 size. Rather than buy expensive 12-sheet pads of paper from art shops, I prefer to buy a cheaper, 20-sheet pad from Tiger (one of my favourite shops!) but when I looked earlier this week, they didn't seem to have any. I'm hoping they'll have some in stock next time, because although it's cheap, there's no difference in the quality.

These are two more paintings towards a goal:
055. Create 52 Paintings in 1 Year
Considering I started in March, I'd better get my skates on, hadn't I!

  1. These are gorgeous! <3 With the speed at which you turn out your creative projects sometimes, I'm sure you won't have any difficulty reaching your goal ^^
