Rich, Smooth and Intense

Alas I am not talking about a man, but chocolate!
Following on from my previous post about trying 50 new types of chocolate, I began to try out what the world (okay, Waitrose) has to offer!

Originally I was going to update with every 5 chocolate bars eaten, but so far I've only eaten three, from well-known brands: Thornton's, Green & Black's, and Lindt.

I'm writing about these in the order I ate them*

Eat ALL the chocolate!

 

A few more goals have been added to The List! Inspired by the chocolate episode of Heston's Great British Food, the most recently added goal is:

064. Eat 50 different chocolates

I should point out this is chocolate that is new to me! I won't go to the newsagent and buy one of everything!
...but I'll probably nip into Waitrose for a bar or two occasionally, as they do more than the usual assortment of Mars, Double Decker, Dairy Milk etc (all delicious chocolate bars that my taste buds are well acquainted with!)

So I'm now intent on finding fifty different flavours of chocolate, chocolate bar, and maybe even hot chocolate (but only if it's the real stuff with the chocolate flakes you add to hot milk!)

At the moment I have:

Thornton's Viennese bar
Waitrose Seriously Nutty bar
Thornton's Chilli dark chocolate bar
Willie's Cacao Luscious Orange bar
Green & Black's Butterscotch milk chocolate bar

Lindt Strawberry bar

That's probably enough to be getting on with, isn't it!

Yesterday brought another trip into Brighton, this time with my parents and youngest sister, to see Terry Garoghan is the Man in Slacks at the Brighton Komedia.

The Competitions Diary

One of my goals on The List was:

049. Enter 10 competitions/prize draws every day for 1 month

I decided that ‘1 month’ would be ’31 days’ and started back in April. Today, I finished! (Have I won anything? So far, no! Booooo!)

Finishing this one was actually a relief!

This Tuesday, I travelled into Brighton with a neighbour to see more of the art exhibitions happening as part of Brighton Festival & Fringe.

Finding some of the exhibitions proved to be an adventure in itself! During the festival, a lot of exhibitions 'pop up' in various places.

As noted on The List, I don’t even own 100 films, so this one could be something of a challenge!

Travel Like It's 1883: Volks Electric Railway

Established in 1883, Volks Electric Railway is the oldest operating electric railway in the world. As I mentioned briefly in my previous post, Dad and I took a trip on it on Saturday.

Brighton Festival & Fringe

Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe began yesterday, and despite it being a Saturday (meaning the city would be packed) I travelled there to check out some of what the events have to offer! I also made some progress on The List, hurrah!

The Pleasure of Parklife (and Cake!)

As part of my birthday trip to Worthing on Tuesday, we went for lunch at Parklife in Bath Place. 

The large sign and bright pink shop front make this café impossible to miss. Once inside, the vast array of tempting cakes will have your stomach rumbling!
